Remodel electrician for Cedar Rapids and Marion
Remodel electrician for Cedar Rapids and Marion
Kitchens, baths, basements and pantries. We work directly with you or alongside your contractor, from the first walkthrough to the final inspection.

How a remodel job runs
We start by walking the space with you and looking at the panel. Most remodel problems come from a kitchen or basement plan that adds more load than the existing service was sized for, so we check that before anyone orders cabinets.
Once the plan is set, you get a written estimate. We rough in while the walls are open, get the inspection scheduled where one is required, and come back to trim out after drywall and paint. Your contractor, if you have one, gets a schedule they can build around.
Common remodel work
- Kitchens: new appliance circuits, island receptacles, under-cabinet and recessed lighting
- Bathrooms: GFCI protection, dedicated circuits, exhaust fans, heated floors
- Basements: new circuits, lighting layouts, subpanels
- Older homes: replacing the old wiring you uncover once the walls come open
- Details: pantry and closet lighting, sconces, cabinet lighting, ceiling fans
A pantry, before and after

“I had a vision for my dream pantry and Kenny Magby at Element Electric made that vision come to life!”
“Been told by another electrician that our project was going to be impossible, requiring substantial work on the outside of our home. Element came in and identified three possible solutions…”
Common questions
Will you work with my general contractor?
Yes. We work for homeowners directly and as the electrical sub on contractor-run remodels. Either way we coordinate rough-in and trim around the other trades.
Do I need a bigger panel for my remodel?
Sometimes. A new kitchen, an electric range or a finished basement can push an older service past its limit. We run the load calculation before you commit, so you know early.
Do you handle the permit and inspection?
Yes, where they are required. We pull the electrical permit and schedule the inspection as part of the job.
