How the install works

Send us your vehicle, the charger you have or want, and a photo of your panel with the door open. We check your available capacity, then quote the job. Most installs are a dedicated 240 volt circuit from the panel to the charger, either hardwired or to a receptacle.

Choosing an amperage

Chargers are a continuous load, so the circuit has to be sized above the charger’s rating. A 40 amp charger needs a 50 amp circuit, and a 48 amp charger needs a 60 amp circuit. Bigger is not always useful. Most drivers refill overnight at 40 amps, and your car may limit the rate on its own.

If your panel is tight

You may not need a service upgrade. Many chargers can be set to a lower amperage, and load-management equipment can share capacity with the rest of the house. We will show you the options and what each one costs.

“They responded quickly to my inquiry, explained the process in detail, and provided different options. Job was completed promptly and efficiently and customer service was excellent!”

Common questions

Hardwired or plug-in?

We recommend hardwiring in most cases. It removes a receptacle as a failure point and many chargers allow a higher output that way. Plug-in makes sense if you may want to take the charger with you.

Which brands do you install?

All of the major brands, including Tesla, ChargePoint, Emporia, Grizzl-E and Ford. If you have not bought one yet, tell us your vehicle and we will suggest a size.

My garage is detached. Can you still do it?

Yes. We run a feeder or circuit to the building, underground or overhead, and can add a subpanel if you want other loads out there too.
