Shop and garage wiring
Shop and garage wiring
Attached garages, detached shops and pole buildings. Subpanels, 240 volt circuits for your tools, and lighting you can actually work under.
What we install
- Subpanels and feeders sized for your equipment, with room to grow
- 240 volt circuits for welders, compressors, lifts and table saws
- Dedicated circuits for freezers and refrigerators
- LED shop lighting, including replacing old fluorescent fixtures
- Exterior lights and receptacles
- EV charger circuits, roughed in now or installed later
New building or existing
For a new shop, bring us in before the slab goes in if you want anything run under the floor. For an existing building, we can usually run the feeder underground or overhead from the house or the meter pole. If the trench is long, we size the feeder for the distance and handle the digging as part of the job.
Tell us what you plan to run
A list of your equipment gets you a better number than square footage does. Send us the nameplate or model of your welder, compressor or lift, plus anything you expect to buy in the next few years.
“I’ve hired Element Electric for a few jobs at my home including… installing new dedicated outlets for freezer and appliances in my garage, and replacing large fluorescent lights with LEDs.”
Common questions
What size subpanel do I need for my shop?
It depends on your tools and how many run at once. Many home shops land on 60 to 100 amps. We size it from your equipment list.
Can you wire a pole building?
Yes. We wire post-frame buildings and attached or detached garages.
Do I need a separate meter for my shop?
Usually not. Most shops are fed from the house or the meter pole. On some rural properties a separate service is worth pricing, and we can compare both.
