Underground electrical and trenching
Underground electrical and trenching
Buried power to shops, garages, homes, poles and outbuildings. We do the trench and the electrical, so one company answers for the whole job.
What we bury
- Feeders from the house or a meter pole to a detached shop or garage
- Replacing overhead lines with underground service
- Pole-to-house and pole-to-building runs on acreages and farms
- Circuits to yard lights, gates, wells and outdoor receptacles
- Feeders for EV chargers and hot tubs that sit away from the panel
Locates come first
Every trench starts with an 811 locate. That call only marks utility-owned lines. Your own lines, like a run to a well, a yard light or an old shed, are not marked. Tell us what you know about, and we will plan the route around it.
Built for the distance
Long runs are where underground jobs go wrong. We size conductors for voltage drop as well as ampacity, so your welder or compressor runs right at the far end. Burial depth depends on the wiring method and the circuit, and we set it to what code requires for your job. We also plan for the next load, because adding a larger conduit now costs far less than digging twice.
Common questions
How deep does the line have to be?
It depends on the wiring method and the circuit. Common feeders in conduit or direct-burial cable run about 18 to 24 inches deep. We confirm the depth for your job before we dig.
Can you trench through a finished yard?
Yes. We will walk the route with you first and plan around landscaping, driveways and sidewalks. Tell us about anything you want protected.
How far can you run power?
Long runs are fine when the wire is sized for the distance. Tell us the distance and what you want to power, and we will size it.
